Lal Mirch: the incomplete arcobaleno
Who is Lal Mirch? Lal Mirch comes off as a no-nonsense type of person. Lal Mirch was to be the original holder of the blue pacifier for the Arcobaleno,
but was unexpectedly
replaced by Colonnello in an attempt to save her from the Arcobaleno curse. Due to late timing, she was still forced to carry a half curse, being that she
shared the same physical effects as the other Arcobaleno but was unable to attain the full power of the blue pacifier, which was given to Colonnello.
Lal sports blue hair and a distinctive scar on her right cheek. She is first seen in infant form wearing combat gear, a crimson cape and an infrared visor. Lal
also dons her corrupt Arcobaleno pacifier on her chest like Reborn. Her adult form, first seen upon Tsuna's arrival in the future, is far more developed. She
wears a brown tank top, tight blue shorts and a tan cape. She still has her visor and dons a gorilla mask on her shoulder (presumably as shoulder armor).

why i admire lal mirch
Aside from the fact that I am - well there is no way to put it lightly - obsessed with the Arcobaleno, Lal Mirch is my favorite female character in the series (not that it has many females to pick from but I'm sure you'll see my point). But it's not just a matter of her being my favorite within the series. She is the strongest female character I have ever had the pleasure of reading and watching and I doubt that will ever change despite what series are coming out nowadays. For someone in Lal's shoes, I don't see how she hasn't broken. Despite the shrouded mystery to all the characters in the group, we know the most about Lal and her story seems so tragic. And yet..... happy. I realize it's a bit of a contradiction but it's the fact that she is able to balance this within herself that is one of the biggest reasons that I adore her. It may be a bit odd to say but if anyone were to ask me a good female role model in an animated series, she'd be my first pick. Lal is just so much bigger then she presents herself. This is the woman who was chosen as one of the "strongest seven". This is the woman who instructed our beloved Colonello and we know exactly how he turned out. Who is part of CEDEF, a powerful group within the Vongola. We know of her skill, we know what she's capable of and yet you never actually hear HER say any of it. She never boast, never brags, never even tries to show off a little. Every move and action is calculated and has a purpose. I'd call her humble but humble indicates she wouldn't think she's that good and she knows damn well if you try messing with her, she could kick your ass nine times to Sunday.I admire her immensely. I think a lot of people should. She shoulders a lot of emotional pain day to day and yet she never lets it cloud her judgement (aside from TYL arc but that's a little beyond understandable; she's only human after all. And that's a lot to deal with). Despite that she might be a little more on the hard ass side of things and doesn't seem to ever have much fun or time for herself, she immerses herself in her work, gets things done and is satisfied with that. I think this makes her a fantastic character and I doubt I will be seeing anyone quite like her in a long while.
